This is what happens when, after seeing “The Curse of the Golden Flower” and wanting to practice that “comic style” of what I have spoken in other posts, you put yourself to draw in one night of insomnia… with the fresh reference in mind almost could say that it was inevitable. For that reason the title of this post, which is the original one (滿城盡帶黃金甲) in “latinized” Chinese and whose meaning is, literally, as far as I’ve seen “When Golden Armor Covers The Entire City”.
So, for me this is a recommendable film, if only to see the contrast between “dark” X th century in Europe and the “multicolor” Chinese equivalent. All the film is an explosion of colorful in a palace that for me resembles a beehive, each one knows its place and makes its work with apparent diligence to serve the emperor, in addition of which they are thousands of people to serve him in the enclosure of the palace….(the interior of the palace is a must-see, I would never have imagined that it could has been this way and, as it’s becoming normal with this kind of films, the photography is spectacular)….
