Well, as I said in the previous post, I´m trying a more simple style. This time I´ve tried with a comic page. Like the Star Trek drawing , it´s an old sketch that I always have had the desire to finish. The only thing I have changed with respect to the original sketch is the tower that I have drawn again and the panel with the guy´s face turning, I have added it for an easy understanding why he rises (and I believe that the style difference is noticed), although, watching it retrospectively must have drawn everything from scratch. The narrative of the page is not a wonder (to be honest the drawing isn´t either) but, as I say, my concern was the color. I am trying to get a style with a “simplistic” color, since my usual way to do the color consists of “overpaint” the already done in “a more or less realistic” way, but lately I am getting surprised with the things that I see. People who, with a pair of tones for each color solve the drawings in a marvelous way.
In any case, it has been difficult to forget the old habits and the page has not been absolutely as I hoped, but I am getting closer …..

Lately I´m trying with a “simpler” style (simple by the visual appearance, not by the difficulty involved). I was going to say more “comic” but in fact, there are all types of comics (a few authors with really complicated styles come to my head right now) so…
What I mean is that I am trying to apply (and to maintain) the ink in my drawings since normally my drawings are not inked per se, perhaps due to my form to work the watercolor, when I passed to the computer I continued maintaining that “odd habit” of not leaving a black edge.
Now I want to recover that “comic style” of what I have very few samples in my gallery, mainly of old drawings. So here I leave a pair of inked drawings ready to be painted. The boy is a sketch that I did at the time I was reading “Memory, Sorrow and Thorn” from Tadd Williams, great series (and great author) for whom hasn´t read it. I found it misplaced and I´ve redrawn it completely and inked. As far as the other….well I had to draw something for the inking, ehem.
As always, comments are admitted. Critics and insults only two by person please, do not crowd to me

Well, at last, the first drawing made for posting it. Actually it´s not a great thing, just one of those drawings you make on a notebook without paying much attention and, when you finish, you look at it and say ” mmmm….Must do something with this someday”. So, here it is. I´ve made the Ink with my beloved Painter and when the time arrived to paint it, I was more interested in trying background colors than to actually make a good draw on the character and that´s obvious. But it has been funny. And yep, I like Star Trek. So what?
