BLOG

Well, as you can see, at the moment I still have this “temporary” template running. I have made quite a few changes to bring it a little more to my liking and I think it’s not bad. I added several elements to make it a little more accessible, is not that I have so many readers but I feel that it needed more “comfort” about comment and blog subscribing. That is why I added the ability to subscribe to the blog by mail instead /in addition to the traditional Feeds. I think for those who, like myself, are accustomed to subscribe to specific threads in forums, it would be more convenient to receive an email each time I publish a new entry instead of having this blog “taking up space” in their feed reader, since I don’t update it every day. I have also added the ability to subscribe by mail to the comments of an individual post, thanks to the plugin Subscribe to Comments, which will make it easier to follow the thread in responses that you are interested (I need feedback if it is working or not). I changed the plugin that managed Blog’s archives by Extended Live Archive that works very well, although it is a little more complicated to install, but is highly configurable. I fixed a small problem with the contact form, but now I have a small problem with Babel, which is the plugin responsible of this blog can be seen in 2 languages, suddenly, It did not translate the titles of the entries, but it does with the body of the post, so it is a lesser evil. I am sure that the fault is mine as Matteo, the creator even had the courtesy to “fix” a version for me because It wasn’t working fine in this new blog.

Moreover I’m still working on the old template to make it work properly and to suit my likings in this new hosting service. At the end of this post you can see some pictures of a redesign that I’ve thought of for this particular template and that, I think, adds a touch of modernity to an “ancient” template that is elegantly perfect. At any rate changes are not implemented and I don’t know if they will be because, as I have said repeatedly, my knowledge of php and css is rather limited, but sufficient for minor modifications but not enough for extensive changes or create a whole theme. Right now I am focusing on making it operate as it is (or was in my old blog), then we will see. Maybe I’ll need help … ;)

See ya
